ASTRA monitors all broadcast services around the clock to ensure that transmissions are maintained according to the highest possible performance standards.

We operate three separate dedicated control rooms, active 24 hours a day, where expert technicians are always on hand to promptly answer any customer queries. At our satellite operations centre in Betzdorf, Luxembourg, we ensure that all satellites and services meet the exacting performance standards expected by our customers.Our dedication to operational excellencehas resulted in outstanding network availability and a proven reliability record.

Network Operations Centre (NOC)

The NOC monitors all performance aspects of channel transmissions, both visually and through a sophisticated automatic control system.

Our wall of monitors enables ASTRA's engineers to keep a watch on the video signals of each of the 46 analogue transponders in addition to a number of automatic systems that constantly check the parameters and measure the quality of all analogue signals.

If a video or audio signal is lost, be it for studio-related or any other reason, an instantaneous alarm immediately alerts the controller. Our expert engineers can quickly identify the problem and actively support fast restoration of the service.

Digital Network Operations Centre (DINO)

Our specialist digital control room is a state-of-the-art monitoring facility employing the very latest measurement and detection equipment.

DINO controls all aspects of the digital transmissions - approximately 668 digital TV, 310 digital radio and many assorted data services - on the ASTRA satellites.

Multimedia Network Operations Centre (MNOC)

In 2002 the new MNOC became operational, providing state of the art monitoring and control facilities for all multimedia services on the ASTRA Network. These include ASTRA-NET services (package delivery, IP streaming and High Speed Internet), ASTRA-DSL services, and Broadband Interactive services.

Staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days a week by highly qualified Network engineers, the MNOC is able to ensure a high level of Quality of Service and availability for all multimedia services.
