From broadcasting the first European HDTV channel in 2004 to leading the drive for quality standards for HD consumer equipment on the market, ASTRA has been at the forefront of efforts to widely rollout HDTV in Europe.
ASTRA played a key role in promoting the establishment of minimum display specifications for HD, resulting in the consumer electronic industry's adoption of the EICTA* HD ready logo. Today, ASTRA is the leading delivery platform for HDTV on the continent.
ASTRA remains committed to maintaining the momentum of HDTV in Europe through efforts aimed at informing the general public, the electronic and media industries, and government, about the promise of high-definition television.
