SES SIRIUS names new Managing Director

SOLNA, SWEDEN – August 30, 2007 – SES SIRIUS today announced the appointment of Hakan Sjodin as its new Managing Director beginning September 10. Sjodin will replace Per Norman just a couple of months before the planned launch of the company's latest major investment, the Sirius 4 satellite – Sweden's biggest investment in space ever. "I'll be taking the helm at an exciting time in the history of the company as we prepare for the launch of our new satellite," said Sjödin. “The satellite market is growing, partly because many new television channels are being launched and partly because the HDTV channels being introduced require significantly larger bandwidth than traditional TV channels. Sirius 4 will be a welcome response to the sharply increasing demand for transmission capacity. At the same time, the new satellite will extend the geographical coverage for SES SIRIUS to the east, which means new business opportunities in new markets.” Sjödin has worked at the company since 2001, most recently as Vice President Sales. Prior to this he was at Nokia for 16 years, working in sales and marketing for various product areas, but mainly in satellite and multimedia. He has solid experience in the satellite industry, and already has well-established relationships with SES SIRIUS' customers.
