DEAN OLMSTEAD TO SPEARHEAD SES' AMERICAS ACTIVITIES

Société Européenne des Satellites (SES), the operator of Europe's leading ASTRA satellite system, announces that Dean Olmstead, a US citizen, will spearhead SES' broadband activities for the American markets. Named Executive Representative for SES in the Americas, Dean Olmstead will continue to report directly to Romain Bausch, Director General and Chairman of the Management Committee of SES.

Dean Olmstead joined SES in February of 1998 and was appointed Business Development Director in July of that year. In this position, he successfully built up a team of professionals dedicated to the diversification of SES' activities and business scope. Dean was also instrumental in developing and implementing the Company's strategy for geographic expansion in the Asia-Pacific region, which culminated in January 1999 in SES' strategic investment in AsiaSat.
