SES TO BE INCLUDED IN FTSE WORLD INDEX AND TO BE THE FIRST LUXEMBOURG CONSTITUENT OF THE FTSE EUROTOP 300 INDEX

FTSE International has announced that SES (Société Européenne des Satellites), the operator of Europe's leading ASTRA Direct-to-Home satellite system, will be included in the World Index Series from close of business on Friday, March 17th, 2000. SES will be a member of the Belgium/Luxembourg country group, with a weighting of 4.28% in this group.

Ranked number 237 by market capitalisation, SES will also be the first Luxembourg constituent of the FTSE Eurotop 300 Index where SES will be included in the Cable & Satellite sub-sector.

The FTSE Eurotop 300 is a pan-European benchmark which includes the 300 largest European companies, by market capitalization, representing some 70 per cent of the total European market capitalization.

SES securities are listed on the Luxembourg (Symbol: SES) and Frankfurt (Symbol: SDSL) stock exchanges.
