SES APPOINTS DIRECTOR OF STRATEGIC PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT

Société Européenne des Satellites (SES) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Dean Allen Olmstead to the position of Director of Strategic Planning & Development. In this position, Dean Allen Olmstead reports to Mr. Romain Bausch, Director General and Chairman of the Management Committee of SES.

Dean Allen Olmstead brings to SES outstanding experience in the satellite communications business, ranging from strategic planning and regulatory affairs to telecommunications systems development, implementation and operation both in Ku- and Ka-band.

Mr. Olmstead looks back on 17 years of professional experience in a variety of related positions, such as in the US Department of State, Bureau of International Communications and Information Policy, and at NASA Headquarters, Communications Division. At NASA, Mr. Olmstead served as Program Manager for the Advanced Communications Technology Satellite (ACTS).

Dean Allen Olmstead joins SES from Hughes Electronics Company, where he held different positions in new business development, and was Executive Vice President of DirecTV Japan for the last year. He holds a degree in Economics-Mathematics from Western Washington University, an M.SC. Degree in Engineering-Economic Systems from Stanford University School of Engineering, and Ph.D studies in Economics at the American University in Washington, DC. Mr. Olmstead, a US citizen, is 42 years old, married and has three children.
