SATRIS Digital Link Simulations Software

This software package for simulation of digital links via satellite can assist in the planning of new satellite digital transmission services, preserving link quality of existing services and supporting spectrum coordination processes. It supports both the DVB-S and DVB-S2 standards.

Simulating single- and multi-carrier transponder traffic is made user-friendly by an intuitive user interface and self-explanatory documentation. No specialized simulation or DSP background is required. No training programs are needed to understand the powerful transponder modeling features.

Rather than setting up building blocks, just a few clicks will answer questions such as:

  • What is my optimum transponder back-off?
  • What do I gain with a linearizer for our next satellite program?
  • How much more does my 8-PSK link degrade when sharing the transponder with a 16-QAM carrier?
  • How much fading can be tolerated for each of multiple QPSK-carriers sharing a transponder?

Specifically developed for the satellite communications community, it can serve satellite operators, teleports, VSAT-operators and others in areas as diverse as link analysis, transmission planning, system engineering, systems architecture, spectrum coordination, interference control and more. The constellation-based analysis exploits link margins left uncovered by traditional C/I-analysis.
