The ASTRA group delivers DTH services via 15 satellites operating from five orbital positions: 5° east, 19.2° east, 23.5º east, 28.2° east and 31.5° east. Our footprints cover Europe and sub-Saharan Africa. YahLive, an ASTRA and YahSat partnership, will use the YahSat 1A spacecraft at 52.5˚ east. This will offer direct-to-home quality Ku-band coverage of more than two dozen countries in the MENA region and south-west Asia, with uplink capacity for these regions from Europe.

Co-locating satellites in the same orbital position allows us to increase programming choice for viewers, and can provide customers with the insurance of in-orbit back-up.
