ASTRA 1KR is an all Ku-band spacecraft that provides distribution of direct-to-home broadcast services across Europe. It is equipped with 32 active transponders, which will be reduced to 28 active transponders after the first 5 years. The satellite is located at 19.2° east, ASTRA’s prime orbital position for DTH services.
