The next step for DTH in Europe

First came the 19.2º East orbital position, which brought commercial Direct-to-Home (DTH) television broadcasting to Europe. Then came 28.2º East, which expanded ASTRA's reach to the UK and Ireland.

ASTRA now introduces the next wave of DTH in Europe with the development of the 23.5º East orbital position. From 23.5º East, ASTRA will enhance its DTH offering to The Netherlands and Central Eastern European region broadcasters, with added capacity and a new generation of technical innovations. The development of 23.5º East will promote ASTRA's efforts to create a virtual universal orbital position for Europe, through which consumers can receive a vast variety of international and regional programming -- from multiple orbital positions -- via a single dish.

From 23.5º East, ASTRA will focus on serving the broadcast markets in the following countries:
