SES ASTRA AND HELLAS SAT SIGN FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT ON HELLAS SAT SATELLITE CAPACITY

SES ASTRA to Offer Transponder Capacity on Hellas-Sat 2 Longstanding Relationship with HELLAS SAT Further Strengthened

SES ASTRA, an SES GLOBAL company (Euronext Paris and Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG), and the Greek satellite operator HELLAS SAT have signed a framework agreement about the utilisation of Hellas-Sat 2 satellite capacity by SES ASTRA. The agreement allows SES ASTRA to integrate transponder capacities on the Hellas-Sat 2 satellite at the orbital position 39° East into its offerings and further complete its service to customers.

SES ASTRA and HELLAS SAT have cooperated closely in recent years through different service agreements whereby the SES ASTRA subsidiary SES ASTRA TechCom operated the Hellas-Sat 2 satellite during its first year in orbit and built satellite control stations for HELLAS SAT in Athens and Cyprus. Furthermore, the SES ASTRA subsidiary SATLYNX already utilises HELLAS SAT capacity for its "Connect" wholesale platform, a range of two-way satellite broadband connectivity services for value-added resellers and service providers across Europe.

Ferdinand Kayser, President and CEO of SES ASTRA, said: "This agreement gives SES ASTRA further scope and flexibility in our offerings to customers in the broadcasting and professional service business. We will round up our portfolio in Europe while at the same time adding interesting new capacity for the Middle East. We are delighted that our relationship with HELLAS SAT is developing very well and look forward to an excellent cooperation."

Christodoulos Protopapas, CEO of HELLAS SAT, said: "We are pleased to further deepen our cooperation with SES ASTRA through this important agreement. It allows both companies to develop new market opportunities in the broadcasting field, especially in Eastern Europe and the Middle East and we are confident that Hellas-Sat 2 is the ideal satellite to complement the SES ASTRA fleet through its excellent coverage and high power beams. We look forward to a longlasting and fruitful relationship".
