Sogecable reaches an agreement with ASTRA and HispasatI to use both satellites to broadcast Digital+
Sogecable, Spain's leading pay television company, has signed an agreement with ASTRA and Hispasat in order to use both satellite systems for broadcasting DIGITAL+'s programs (the television platform resulting from the merger of Via Digital and Sogecable).
This agreement guarantees reception by DIGITAL+'s existing subscribers of the platforms' programs without having to modify their installations.
ASTRA and Hispasat have provided services to Canal Satelite Digital and Via Digital, respectively, since the launch of their operations. With the signing of this agreement, DIGITAL+, the television platform that has gathered the best from both program line-ups since its launch on July 21st, maintains its services from both satellites to the benefit of its customers.
The agreement provides subscribers with the free choice to use either satellite operators' services, although Sogecable may orient the antennas towards one or the other in order to guarantee correct signal reception.
Sogecable thus guarantees satellite transmission services until 2017, by using the services of two leading companies of the sector.
