SES GLOBAL supports bid for GALILEO concession

SES GLOBAL S.A. (Luxembourg and Frankfurt Stock Exchanges: SESG) is pleased to announce its support as an associated partner for a consortium formed by Inmarsat Ventures plc, EADS Space and the Thales Group in their bid, submitted today to the GALILEO Joint Undertaking, for the right to finance, operate and exploit GALILEO, and looks forward to working with those companies and their other partners in achieving this challenge.

GALILEO is a European initiative aimed at providing a new state-of-the-art global satellite navigation system, complementing and enhancing existing satellite navigation systems. Structured as an innovative Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project, GALILEO is a leading example of co-operation between the public authorities and the private industry regarding major infrastructure projects.

SES GLOBAL recognizes GALILEO as one of the most important satellite projects of this coming decade, with numerous strategic and economic benefits for Europe and its citizens and businesses, and indeed for the world. In the context of its products and services diversification strategy, SES GLOBAL expects to be actively contributing to the success of the project and to be leveraging GALILEO enabled applications to the benefit of its customers' products and services portfolio in the future.
