About SES GLOBAL

SES GLOBAL is the world's premier satellite operator with strong abilities and customer relationships in Europe, the Americas and Asia. SES GLOBAL was formed to hold shares in, and coordinate the operations and strategies of SES ASTRA, SES AMERICOM and the SES GLOBAL partners.

SES GLOBAL has strategic holdings in several regional satellite service providers, most notably, AsiaSat and AMERICOM ASIA-PACIFIC in Asia, Star One and Nahuelsat in Latin America, as well as NSAB in Europe. Finally, SES GLOBAL holds equity interests in satellite technology companies including ND Satcom and Gilat.

SES GLOBAL is the premier satellite operator in the world, owning and operating 29 geostationary satellites with 80.5% of their combined marketable transponder capacity under contract as of September 30, 2001, and with significant ownership interests in another 13 geostationary satellites. SES GLOBAL's historical transponder availability in Europe and the U.S. is 99.99%.

SES ASTRA owns and operates the ASTRA satellite system, Europe's leading provider of high quality transponder capacity and broadcasting services. ASTRA is used by a wide range of television and radio broadcasters for the delivery of free-to-air and Pay-TV services direct-to-home or via satellite master antenna television (also referred to as SMATV) facilities that serve multiple dwelling units and hotels, or via cable networks. Multimedia service providers also use ASTRA to deliver content to the general public and selected business communities throughout Europe.

SES AMERICOM operates one of the largest satellite fleets covering North and South America and is one of the leading providers in the United States of satellite communication solutions to broadcasters, cable programmers, telecommunications companies, Internet service providers, government agencies, educational institutions and corporations. Columbia Communications operates four satellites providing services across the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

SES GLOBAL's fleet is comprised of 29 satellites (12 ASTRA satellites and 13 AMERICOM and 4 Columbia satellites) located at 19 orbital positions and currently offering a total of 560 transponders. In addition, SES GLOBAL owns strategic interests in regional satellite service providers that together operate 13 additional satellites (three are owned by AsiaSat, three by NSAB, five by Star One, one by Nahuelsat and one by AMERICOM ASIA-PACIFIC). SES GLOBAL's satellites are positioned at prime orbital slots with look angles that ensure extensive, high quality coverage of land with significant concentrations of residential homes and businesses.

Existing SES GLOBAL customers include ABC, AOL - Time Warner, ARD/ZDF, BBC, BSkyB, CBS, Discovery, Disney, Flextech, ITV, Kirch Group, NBC, RTL Group, Sogecable, Viacom and Vivendi Universal (Canal+).

SES GLOBAL had a contract backlog of EUR 7 billion as of June 30th, 2001.

On an unaudited pro forma basis calculated in accordance with Luxembourg GAAP and using an exchange rate of EUR 1.0 = USD 0.91, SES GLOBAL's 2000 revenues were EUR 1.5 billion, with EBITDA of EUR 1.2 billion, generating an EBITDA margin of 79.2%. After eliminating the non-recurring impact of a sale of transponders to telecom operator Alascom, the 2000 pro forma EBITDA margin was 82.9%. For the first half of 2001 the pro forma revenues were EUR 861.7 million, with an EBITDA of 732.6 million, representing an EBITDA margin of 85%. The first half 2001 EBITDA margin was 82.7% after adjusting for a large non-recurring AMERICOM revenue item.
